James W. Brownabout this book: This is the follow-up to the short story I wrote to introduce my character, Rider Bradbury. In this 23K novella, we find Rider engaged in the hunt for a serial killer known as the Water Demon. Police Detective Rider Bradbury knows that the Water Demon is responsible for the deaths of young women in Canada, however he has no idea of just how evil the Water Demon really is.
This novella contains a lot of martial arts action. I started dabbling in the martial arts way back in 1974. I was influenced by the show, Kung Fu and the movie Billy Jack. As a teenager growing up and being bullied, I looked for ways to protect myself. Those were the days before the internet and all that good stuff. I had to order a martial arts course through direct mail. You filled out a form, mailed it away with your money, probably around two bucks back then and waited for the postman to deliver your package.
I was a very avid reader as a teen, sometimes reading two books in a day. There are many authors who touched me over the years. I tend to reread good books over and over. In my writing, you find bits of action, horror and humor.
Writing is hard and like most writers I tend to find other things to occupy my time. The ebook Dead In The Water was started five years ago and has been changed many times until I came up with something that I would want to read myself.
I hope you enjoy it and look forward to part 3 coming in Jan 2015.
