Rasheed Odunade Akande about this book: The Recluse is a collection of poetry inspired by personal experience cum the experience of many youths especially amongst the poor and middle class children of Nigerian parents. The Recluse is like a tale telling attempt in poetical form, each poem discusses different facet of the challenge forced on us especially by the political elites, the embarrassment of still living under the guidance-ship of our parents or elders after years of University graduation, the hope that lies in our hearts to some day be free of a corrupt and ethnic-religious biased political class. The Recluse also is a collection of poetry that discusses the challenges of other people in places unknown to me, far and wide, of realities created in my mind, deduced from personal experience etc. The Recluse has been an attempt in the making beginning with my first poetry collection in IF ONLY I KNEW: PERSONAL RECOLLECTIONS and DIARY: DREAM WITHIN A DREAM. Every writing, I believe is an attempt.
