Ann Yu Huangabout this book: White Sails is my debut book-length collection of poems. I've always liked the idea of colors serving as a theme, in a sense that not only these colors can be adjectives, but also nouns. In this case, the word "white" renders two ways, as an adjective, it illustrates the color of the sailing boats. And when "white" becomes a noun, the context of this story has deepened. It speaks of anything that is white that will take on an outing, which can be dreamy and wonderfully fulfilling. Simultaneously it serves as a great title for a memorable journey meant to be re-lived on page. White Sails captures this connection with a continuation of writing that marks my authentic, fully conscious and fully lived life, inspired by a long incline through life and dreams.
White Sails is a lyrical exploration of the surreality of one's life in response to one's dreams. Utilizing an array of elliptical lyrical styles, the collection delves deeply into the realm that underscores reality.
