Diana DeLaHaye, LMHCabout this book: I believe that girls should be raised feeling strong and capable of defending themseves. This means they are brought up believing in themselves, so that they defend not only their safety ,but their ideas and opinions.
This takes parents that will see their daughters that way and work to correct weaker stereotypes about females with their daughters.
Being a feminist certainly is the reason i wrote this book. All over the world women are treated as less than and fear for their safety. I believe that all women should have the right to safety. In order for this to happen girls need to be taught how to protect themselves in the best way they can. Relying on men to protect us is not the way to be safe, feelsafe and to be empowered. We need to do this for ourselves.
This book will help you create this kind of atmosphere for your daughter. We can not leave the job to the schools and certainly not society.
Look at the media's interpretation of what females are.
If you want to help your daughter please read my book and let me know what you think.
