Maggie Tideswellabout this book: Dark Moon is a paranormal romance. I set it in our beautiful mothers city at the tip of Africa, cape Town. I love the craft and wanted to incorporate it into my work, without it turning into a textbook. There are no people running around wafting wands and hexing each other. Witchcraft is the fastest growing religion in the world and it is as normal as any other.
It took me almost twenty years to bring Dark Moon to the form it was published in. I have to say that in that period of time, I wrote six other novels too! Writing is a craft and one has to allow oneself time for an internship. A book cannot be written, and written well, in a month. I am proud of the quality of Dark Moon. It is an interesting story and I hope the reader will be thoroughly entertained.
I write mainly for women, though some of the best reviews of Dark Moon came from men. It isn't a soppy love story, but contains many elements that will appeal to both men and women. And the paranormal has great value in today's literature of vampires and zombies, though neither feature in Dark Moon. "That which cannot be seen" and "Nothing is as it seems" are two of my favorite expressions.
