Barbara Plumabout this book: Surprises pop up everywhere in the world of witches, warlocks, and common humans. They begin with a knock on the door.
Thea Gale teeters on the brink of declaring she and hunky warlock Magnus Rogon are kaput. If they are star-crossed lovers, she has decided they are doomed star-crossed lovers. Indulging in a pity party, she opens the door.
A child claiming to be Magnus's long-lost daughter demands to see her father. Since she looks just like Magnus, and since he's exiled on the Isle of Somewhere, and since it's a dark and stormy night, Thea lets this surprise into her house. The fun begins immediately with twists and turns that stir all of Thea's anxieties about being a common human. Not even the red shoes convince her she'll find HEA with Magnus at her side.
This is the third and final book in The Weird Magic Trilogy. Like all of them, it is a stand-alone novel and comes with its own surprise ending.
