Tricia McGillabout this book: I've always seen ghosts, so it seemed inevitable that one of my books should contain one. Most of my ghostly visitors were dear ones who have departed, and just popped back to assure me that they were content. I could never understand why some people are freaked out by them, after all most just want your attention and certainly can't harm you as they seem to do in scary movies. I am so used to it by now that I see nothing unusual in it.
The ghost in this story is a small child intent on gaining Laurel's attention. Of course there is a purpose in this that unfolds as the tale goes along. And of course there has to be a romantic element as there is in all of my books.
Laurel is an English woman now living in Melbourne, Australia. When her Great Aunt is forced to go into care Laurel is called on to move into the old lady's home to care for her three pets, a dog and two rather odd cats. It doesn't take Laurel long to learn that a ghost resides in the house, a fact that doesn't faze her as luckily she has always communed with spirits. And lucky for her when Eli comes into her life, he is also curious rather than freaked out. Between them they uncover the secrets of the house and the mystery of the ghostly child.
