Effrosyni Moschoudiabout this book: When Sofia falls in love with Danny, a British tourist, on the Greek island of Corfu, she opens her heart to more than she bargained for. Other than the sweetness of first love, she becomes overwhelmed by strange dreams she cannot explain and begins to write poems that a mourning spirit recites in these dreams. Soon, she realizes the spirit's lament is connected to her feelings for the boy who's now gone back to England and left her heartbroken…
The Lady of the Pier trilogy is a paranormal historical romance that tells the stories of two girls, Laura and Sofia, who are strangers to each other but have a very strong bond. The two timelines remain unrelated in The Ebb, begin to converge slowly in the second volume (The Flow), and in book 3 (The Storm), they finally merge into one story.

CaptivatedI was finally so captivated by this book of two romantic tales that are somehow intertwined I was reading this until midnight last night and the closer I came to the end of this installment the more disappointed I was becoming that it would end. Thank goodness there are two more books - "The Flow" and "The Storm" which I can't wait to read! The two periods (Brighton in the pre-WWII era and Corfu fifty years later) are vividly described as well as an excursion to Paxos which revitalised my own memories of a similar boat trip. Now I am torn between doing some cooking or starting Book 2! [by Katerina]
Something differentIt was a new experience ... like reading two books at the same time. The stories of the four main characters run side by side, and yet, in THE EBB, you feel as if they are not really connected ... but ... read on! The two stories flow beautifully, as rivers, on their own, for a good part of this book, but then, gradually, you can feel these two rivers slowly flowing towards each other. This first part of the trilogy really stirred my interest in the story of young Laura and Christian ... Laura's humble beginnings, her rise to fame...and fortune. The story of Sofia and Danny, on the other hand, I found not at interesting at this point ... but better things were to come in the second part of the trilogy. Bravo to Ms Moschoudi for her writing and this unique storyline. [by A M Hanson]
