Sandra Carlson about this book: In 1993 I graduated nursing school and obtained a Vocational Nurse license. I have now had that license for 19 years. And even though I haven't had the opportunity to progress that license, I have done many things to advance my knowledge and skill base. When I was in school, even though it was stressful at times, it was one of the best things I ever did. I originally finished the book in 1996, set it aside to expand my family, and decided now was a good time to dust off the manuscript.
Nurses are a unique blend of people. We usually enjoy what is gross, to make it better, and pretty again. We get hit on the job at times, smell the worst smells, then go and have lunch. Nurses do often have a thankless job and thus my reasons to get this book out there. To show those unique individuals how to laugh at the process and embrace the successes ... and it all started with our training. I also wrote this book to be a fast read. I remember when I was in school how often my classmates and myself discovered books and tools related to our desired profession. However, we had little time to read more than our assignments. Thus, this book was designed to be a fast, but supportive read. So come join me, on a path of training, learning, and learning to laugh at one's experiences...as a nurse.
