T. L. Williamsabout this book: Cooper's Revenge is an action packed novel about a Navy Seal who wants to avenge his younger brother, Cooper's tragic death in an IED attack in Iraq. Behind this attack is Iran's secretive Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Their foreign arm, the Qods Force, has been funding and training terrorist groups like Hezbollah, Al Qaeda and the Taliban for decades.
I was inspired to write Cooper's Revenge because most people don't realize the extent to which Iran is culpable in these attacks on American troops. They remain in the shadows, content to let their proxies take credit for the thousands of soldiers killed and maimed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Our leaders are focused on Iran's nuclear ambitions, and much of what readers see in the press is devoted to that issue. And rightfully so, because a nuclear armed Iran is a frightening proposition. But we all need to be reminded that Iran's continued bad behavior has ruined the lives of thousands of our soldiers and their families.
My wife and I lived in Esfahan, Iran in the late 1970s, just before the Shah was forced to abdicate in favor of the Ayatollah Khomeini. We have many wonderful memories of the nearly two years that we spent there, living in a traditional-style Persian house in the Armenian section of Esfahan. I drew inspiration and cultural insight from the time that we spent there.
