Rita Karnoppabout this book: The electronic world comes to a screeching halt during the great quakes of 2050. The Iconoclasts take over and rule with a white supremacist's hand. Soon Quake Fever is killing them off faster than starvation. The Iconoclasts look for a cause and are soon looking at the buffalo, since the Indians are not dying.
The Native American always believed that life will go full circle. That time has come. After the great quakes, they take over the national parks and go back the ways of their ancestors, where the buffalo have multiplied.
Doctor Alcina Hancock is a member of the Iconoclats and heads for the Blackfeet Nation to find the cure for Quake Fever. She learns she is part Native American and is devastated by the news. She wants to be nothing but pure white.
Ekuskini, son of the Blackfeet chief, is just as determined to keep his bloodline pure Blackfeet. Then he meets Alcina Hancock and the attraction angers him to the core.
It doesn't take them long to realize they must learn to help each other if they are to survive both the attack of Quake Fever and the iron rule of the Iconoclasts. Can they look beyond the hatred and differences . . . and see the love? Or will they learn nothing from the past and allow white vs Indian to repeat itself?
