Robert K. Swisher Jr.about this book: Can an old hippie, Vietnam Vet, find his love and center by moving to Phoenix and taking up golf. Roosevelt's guardian angel tells him he has to be dumber than a rock and all that he going to find in Phoenix is murder, gangsters that like drinks with cute umbrellas in them and cops that could care less about murder or if Roosevelt can sink a three foot putt. Roosevelt falls into a bank robbery gang, murder, a lady stripper that thinks Roosevelt getting beat up is the funniest thing in the world and a girlfriend that doesn't know what a friend really is. It all starts after he buys golf clothes that are so ugly they should be illegal, a set of clubs, and on his first drive hits the ball in the rough, where, you guessed it, his golf ball is resting by a naked lady that is dead and also has blocked his shot to the green. His guardian angel tells him, "you know, I didn't know golf was this dangerous." Another snide look at life that will leave you smiling at the absurdity of it all.
