Jeffrey B. Burton
about this book: Although "The Chessman" is about a brutal serial killer who is in hot pursuit of his own copycat, it really concerns broken hero, FBI Special Agent Drew Cady, who is on the trail of both. Jeffrey B. Burton has had short stories published in dozens of genre magazines (mystery, horror, literary, etc.). In fact, "The Chessman" began as a short story but quickly evolved into a novelette and then a novella before Jeff mumbled "What the hell" and wrote it as a full-blown mystery novel.
"The Chessman" - published by MacAdam/Cage Publishing in May of 2012 - has received rave reviews, including a starred review from Publishers Weekly. It is available in all online bookstores, bricks-an-mortar shops, and in libraries across the United States and Canada. Foreign rights have been sold in Germany, The Netherlands, and Turkey. Jeff is an Active member of both the Mystery Writers of America (MWA) and the Horror Writers Association (HWA).
