Marilyn Meredithabout this book: This is number 17 in the Deputy Tempe Crabtree mystery series. Like all the books, you don't need to read the earlier ones to enjoy it, the main plot/mystery is complete.
Contacted by a ghost hunger to help discover the identity of a ghost in a house in Tehachapi, Tempe and her husband put off their vacation to the coast. A murder victim is found near the supposedly haunted house and Tempe is soon entangled in the investigation.
Like many of the Tempe Crabtree mysteries, there is not only a ghost, but another spirit and Indian legends.
Someone asked me to write a book set in Tehachapi and since I love this unique mountain community, I agreed. I did have to do some research and learned more about the Wind farm with the gigantic wind turbines, the Pacific Crest Trail, the Loop (the fascinating railroad engineering feat), the small town of Stallion Springs, and so much more.
While there I also visited Stallion Springs, a small community tucked away in a mountain.
valley, and included it in the mystery.
Though I already knew a lot about Tehachapi, while researching I learned a lot more about its history and the Native people. And, yes, I included much of it in this latest mystery.
