Book: Hidden Death - A Matt Smith Mystery by David Tientercategories: Book, Thriller, Action, Dog Lovers, Gamblers, Mystery
David Tienterabout this book: I have been bombarded with young, studly heroes in books and movies and wish to write about people 50 years+ with both intelligence and stamina to live their lives in full. Tom Cruise may be a great actor, but we all can't be him. And a lot of action can still be enjoyed in books without a young hero.
This novel was difficult for me as I wrote about two of my great hates; dog fighting and child abuse. I contacted several state authorities to make sure the legal and arrest procedures were correct. In all I spend better than five months writing this novel and I was very pleased to see the reception it has received.
Of particular interest to me, was the interaction between the hardened gambler and the street-wise homeless boy who came to trust each other and work together to solve this crime. Truly it was the love of dogs that brought the two together.
