James Oliver Frenchabout this book: White Lies and Goodbyes began as a short movie script titled Ms. Milden and the Body Snatchers, which I wrote during high school. It was inspired by the twisted tales of Roald Dahl that I still enjoy to this day. In early January of this year (2015) I began working on a novella version of the tale, which slowly expanded to include another storyline wrapped around the central tale of the wicked Ms. Milden.
The tale will appeal to readers who enjoy mystery, psychology, and anyone who wishes they could get revenge on their worst teacher at school. I decided to set the story in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, which is my hometown, as I couldn't picture any other place better as the location for these events. Every time I closed my eyes and imagined Sleepy Hollow Primary school, all I could think of was Scottsville school where I was a pupil many moons ago.
I hope that you enjoy this story, and I look forward to my readers' responses.
