Book: Insomnia by Nick Van Loycategories: Book, New York, Subway, Friendship, Romance, Mystery Thriller
Nick Van Loyabout this book: Seth is riding the subway. While reading a book, a girl comes and sits right next to him. Being a bit surprised by this, he can't say a single word, so they sit in silence for about ten minutes. The girl has to get off at the next station. She left a piece of paper with a phone number and the words 'WAKE UP' written on it. Why did she write that?
I started writing this novel when I was in college and when I found a job I didn't have much time to finish it. About ten years later, when I was having a rough time in my life, I noticed my manuscript lying around. Writing the rest of this story helped me get through it and I was so proud of myself I decided to self-publish it. Like most authors, I have used some autobiographical elements for my main character, which makes it easy for other people to identify with him. It's written in a style that makes you want to read more.
