Book: End of Beyond by Jonathan Macauley Nielsoncategories: Book, History, Intrigue, Montana, Arizona, Scotland, Mystery Thriller
Jonathan Macauley Nielsonabout this book: History Professor Timothy Strange returns to his pickup after checking his office. He's about to leave on summer vacation for Montana. What's this? Someone's sitting in the front seat in a dark hoodie! Who they are and why they are there will instantly change his comfortable, uneventful academic life, plunging him into international intrigue, mystery and a harrowing adventure that will change everything he imagined he knew before.
As a history professor this story appealed to me although I assure readers that the story line is purely fictional. I also wanted to explore the ravages of the drug trade and sex trafficking which is a central element of the plot and narrative, based on very real, documented aspects of these criminal activities in the Southwest, Montana and the UK in the early 1980s. It was purely serendipitous that one of my principal 'real life' characters, Barry Seal, is the main character of a recent movie starring Tom Cruise...as Barry Seal. A fortuitous coincidence!
