about this book: Bad Girls is the second book in my Eden mystery/thriller series. The idea came to me after seeing news reports on human trafficking and reading a Time magazine article about the Deep Web. I'm fascinated, as well as appalled, by how the internet has impacted all aspects of our lives. Like any world-changing technology, there's a positive side and a negative, and criminals of all types are increasingly taking advantage of the opportunities it gives them. I wanted to play with the idea of normal people caught up in such a criminal enterprise and how they fight against it.
As with the first book in the series, I wrote the story in the multiple third-person point of view, bringing back my police detective and insurance investigator characters from Catch A Falling Star. I also tell the story from the point of view of several new characters, including the insurance investigator's teenage niece, Marnie Becker, and the villain. Spoiler alert--I love strong female characters, and Marnie Becker is one of the strongest!
