Marilyn Meredithabout this book: In DISPEL THE MIST, Deputy Tempe Crabtree finds herself trying to sort out the mystery surrounding the death of the first female county supervisor, a woman with Native American and Mexican roots.
The murder was based on a real murder that a friend told me about--of course I made many changes so it would fit the plot.
Besides the murder there are many complication happening on the reservations and the nearby city, with direct and indirect links to the murder.
Along with all this, Tempe is haunted by a dream or is a nightmare about the legendary Hairy Man her grandmother told her about. Is he real, or just a tale told to frighten Indian children? An encounter with the Hairy Man answers the question.
Once again, the title came from a quote from a Native American.
When I learned about the Hairy Man on our nearby reservation, I knew he had to be a character in one of my Deputy Tempe Crabtree mysteries.
• I would say that this is one of the 10 best mystery books I have read in the last two decades! It is a book worth your time reading! It is truly a FIVE STAR RATED BOOK!
