Tony Nashabout this book: 'Murder by Proxy is the second novel in the 'Mayhem in Norfolk' series. The many thousands of murder mysteries that have been written have used just about every method of inflicting death that exist, and finding a unique way of killing is just about impossible, but as I was researching unusual poisons, in particular those relating to poisons derived from fungi, I came across a snippet that gave me the idea for this book. Old people in a care home are dying at a much faster rate than usual, apparently from influenza, but neither the doctor nor the staff of the home are suspicious, even though an old ex-soldier, one of the patients, tells a member of staff that he has seen the perpetrator at work. He is ignored. DCI Tony Dyce and his pathologist wife, Jane Keller, have quite a job on their hands, trying to decide if the old people are being murdered and if so, how? It doesn't end there...
