Book: The Dead List (A John Drake Mystery) by Martin Crosbiecategories: Book, Canada, Suspense, RCMP, Police, Murder Mystery
Martin Crosbieabout this book: No one knows who John Drake really is when he shows up at a small-town police detachment in Hope, British Columbia, on the west coast of Canada. He's a rookie, straight from the RCMP college but he's forty years old. He's Canadian but has a strange hard-to-decipher accent. And when a dead body shows up during his shift he shows investigative skills that even his senior officers can't comprehend.
As the investigation continues Drake uncovers a list of six names, five men and one woman. The dead man is one of the names on the list. When another man on the list is murdered the investigation is accelerated and the chase to find the killer is on.
This is a fiction tale set in the real-life small town of Hope. The dark atmosphere of the town, the fact that it's bordered by mountains and a large lake and the fact that it's so close to several prisons made this the ideal place to put John Drake and have him try to solve a murder.
Hope was also the town where "First Blood" the first Rambo movie was shot.
