Kitty Margoabout this book: A Middle School Spooky Series.
BJ and his two best friends are fishing at the pond behind his house when either a gigantic whooping crane, the biggest owl known to man, a completely noiseless helicopter, or some unknown flying creature swoops low over their heads. Each of them knows that this bird… has way too many human characteristics to also have a pair of moth like wings attached to his back. BJ's hallucinations must be back, because he could NOT have really just witnessed a half bird/half man with a wing span of at least twelve feet fly directly over his head.
Amazon review by Alina - My grandson had never heard of the Mothman until reading this book. Now that is all he talks about. Neither of us had ever heard of the Mothman or knew that the book was based on real eyewitness accounts. I also love the anti bullying message in this book. Five stars Miss Margo.
