M Lynn Clevelandabout this book: When you are raised by a mother that says she is a christian saved woman but doesn't show love or affection you sure are confused and you say to yourself I will never be like that when I have kids. She was one way in public but totally different at home. Little do you know it's hard to change what you've been taught all your life. You find out what you were taught as a child about sex, love and marriage. It was all a lie. You learn after many failed relationships that something is not right about what you're doing.
When you finally get out and into the real world you learn how to really love. You also find that when you have your own children you start following the same patterns you said you would never do with your children that your mom did to you but you are doing it. It is hard to let old habits die but I eventually did with the help of a loving husband that had a even harder childhood. His mom made mine look like an angel.
