Michael Foleyabout this book: We have worked on this story for several years, beginning with a few notes jotted on a cocktail napkin in a bar in Monterey, California. We had just spoken at a writer's conference and wondered if we could write a book together, one that would include the fictional elements that we both loved.
The Night Shanghai captures the magic and mystery we envisioned in those initial moments, with several fun characters and interwoven stories to leave readers with a sense of wonder and hope.
Several questions drove us in writing this book.
What if sympathy, assistance, information and humor are available whenever you need them?
What if there are concerned spirits guiding your physical journey?
What if life is magical in every moment?
What if other forces attempt to block that magic? Can that be overcome?
The Night Shanghai explores all those questions. This has been a magical journey for us, and that magic is present on every page.
Welcome to The Night Shanghai.
