Alma B. Apostolabout this book: This book is about my life as an expatriate in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After coming back to America, I took writing courses writing about my experiences and observations as an expat. The readers are women interested in their freedom as well as the lives of women whose rights are restricted.
It took a year to write most of the manuscript, but I hesitated to publish it until now, ten years later. The title of my book describes my life as an expat. The hardest parts were reliving and recollecting the events that took place there. I arrived in Riyadh a strong woman, bold and self-confident with high self-esteem; and left weak, defeated and devoid of self-confidence and self-esteem.
I've realized that what I considered to be the hardest part of my life is now a blessing because it has given me an opportunity to share my experiences. I wrote the ebook to educate women not to take their rights for granted and to have empathy to women whose rights are restricted or have no freedom at all.
