Saturday Night DancesScotty's book describes so well what many of us, who did not live during the 1940's, imagine that simpler time to have been like. The center of social gathering was the saturday night dance. People from around town came together and spend time dancing. There is a part of us all that loves to dance, whether we still do it much or not. Envisioning the Goose Rocks of 1946, I imagine as being so nice to see people from your town, the chit-chat, the gossip, the sound of dance music, swing music, the old-fashioned lights. The book pulls me so much to go back to this time. All I need is a time machine.
