Andrew Q. Gordonabout this book: (Un)Masked was mainly convinced by Antya Sunday. We decided to collaborate on this after we wrote Bettor To Lose for the Gay Author's 2011 novella contest. We enjoyed working together so we decided to try out luck writing something to get published.
One of the interesting things about the book is that having gay main characters is central to the plot, but not in the usual way. There is no gay bashing, no coming out issues, no hand wringing over being gay. The reason it is important has a more unique touch. Explaining would spoil the plot, but when you get to the end you'll understand.
The sci-fi/paranormal element is important but not overbearing. This is a love story with a paranormal element, not a paranormal story with a romance element. The curse drives the plot, but you won't be bogged down in details. Hopefully it will appeal to a wide variety of people.
