Paul Keeneabout this book: "You are not a human being in search of a spiritual experience. You are a spiritual being immersed in a human experience." ~ Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
The story behind the novel began when the backdoor to an old Victorian house opened before I inserted the key in the lock. At first, I thought the owner of the house opened the door for me that he had a change in previous plans. There was no sign of the man in the rooms downstairs; however, I sensed a presence following me with every step I took. The presence became colder and stronger as I neared the open staircase leading to the second floor. I hightailed it back to the kitchen, out the backdoor, and returned the key under the flowerpot where the owner left it for me.
The story line came. A man going through a divorce ends up in a haunted house. In his state of mind, what if he finds comfort in the eeriness? What if the ghost is attracted to the man, welcomes him? And what if her plans and fantasies regarding the human presence are foiled when the man's children move in and the Pacific Northwest Order of Ghosts hold their annual Halloween ball and meeting in the Victorian house?
A colorful cast of ghosts and humans will bring laughter and suspense, and you may experience ghosts invading your space.
