Book: Presley the White Peacock - A Children’s Story about the Beauty of Kindness by Elise Lowe
categories: Book, Children's Stories, Peacocks, Stories about Birds, Beauty, Sharing, KindnessElise Lowe

Among the other peacocks, Presley is judged for his distinct colouring rather than the kind acts he constantly performs. He takes their cruel taunts to heart and tries to flee, eventually diving into a dark cave.
Here, he meets Mandy the Mole. She welcomes Presley to her home, shares her food with him, helps him to realise that he has a value far beyond his appearance, and selflessly encourages him to return to the rainforest despite enjoying his company. Her dark cave offers a stark contrast to the colourful and vibrant rainforest, yet Presley asks if he can stay with her forever. Though the story isn't about Mandy, she is an integral part of its message and is there to set an example for young readers.
The other peacocks learn their lesson too. They are not beyond redemption and their transformation teaches that we can help make the world a more beautiful place through acts of kindness.
