D. S. Watkinsabout this book: I wanted to do something lasting and meaningful for my grandchildren that would give them skills that could sustain and improve their lives well into adulthood. I learned to garden at the tutelage of my father who had been a master garden for over 70 years. I wanted to pass along all that I had learned from him, and more. I had written a cookbook with my grand daughter and wanted to do something with my grand sons.
The first year, we planted a Container Garden, which is the focus of Kidz Gone To Potz. The second year, we planted a traditional Yard Garden. We built a compost bin, started a worm farm, built a pollinator garden, planted Theme gardens, and, learned a lot about recycling and earth stewardship. The boys had so much fun learning to garden and it was exciting to know that they had leaned skills that could be used to better their lives.
