about this book: This is volume one of a series of easy to read chapter books with the main theme of kids and APPS. Playtoon books are funny adventures of an ANT in her Ant World which is being swept by a technology tidal wave. An analogy to what we are living through right now. The ants do not use iPod, they use AntPod. At first Playtoon uses the gadget for listening to bird songs. But she soon discovers that the AntPod is much more than that. There are tons of games in there.
As Playtoon is a worker ant, she has a duty to perform in in the community. At first she takes longer breaks to play games. After a while she starts skipping work now and then. Playtoon relies on her neighbors to cover her own duties, knowing that ants help each other. The plot reaches climax when Playtoon has to face an emergency. She is just not there, not ready if something unexpected happens.
Playtoon books teach children that if put all their mind into games and electronic gadgets, there are consequences that the fun of the games conceals amazingly well. Playtoon books teach kids to be mindful and balanced when it comes to eFun.
