Mariam Cheshireabout this book: For Myrt-ty and Louey, the friendship was rocky from the start. Louey found Myrt-ty in a golden cave in Virginia when she was old enough to ask questions: "What is it all about?" She did not know that she talked to the last dragon princess left on Earth.
Myrt-ty said, "Leave me alone, stick pale-face."
Louey would not give up. Myrt-ty went back and forth in time to find the answers for both of them. When Louey needed rescue, Myrt-ty had to decide if she could sacrifice her family.
From Mariam: This is partly autobiographical, writing about what I could never tell when growing up.
Myrt-ty wrote her part. Each morning I would wake up, go to the keyboard and start typing.
Myrt-ty's dragaan life seems just as real as Louey's life. Her family might be next door, especially GrandMyrt, who has the same bossiness that my grandma did. Growing up she fights the rules. Why can't she do what boy dragaans do? Then I can't begin to explain about her love life -- it seems rather powerful in the dragaan society.
