I wrote the bulk of One Mississippi in 1997 as the result of a story my Grand Mother told me about the racial divide she experienced in the early 1930's while living in Joplin Missouri. While researching the period, which was so very rich with historically volatile and socially heavy influences, I could see the events that would shape and drive a strong independent woman who happened to be caught up in the unrest of these turbulent times. And so was born Kathryn Nash and the story of her life.
The primary readers of my book are women who have raised children, made sacrifices for their families, and can identify with a woman who has had to respond, as best she can, to the quick twists and turns that her life unexpectedly takes. In the time it takes to say the word "Mississippi" Kathryn must face seemingly impossible challenges that forever change her life and the lives of those she loves.
While at first glance, the cover art evokes the romance undertones in the saga of Kathryn Nash, a closer look reveals hints of the social unrest that set the stage for the twists and turns her life takes in this the first book in the ONE MISSISSIPI series.
I invite you to go back in time, with Kathryn Nash, and discover just what really can happen in a split second of time. You may be shocked, but you won't be disappointed!

non stop from one to two
I don't normally bother writing reviews, other people are so much better at it! But here I have to make an exception. Both books have touched me like no other, the author has an amazing talent to draw you into his story so that you will not be able to put the book down once you started reading it. My grateful thanks go Howard Littleson for enriching my reading experience beyond measure. The only drawback...no other book I have downloaded to my Kindle since, has given me this much pleasure reading.
Had me from the first page
The characters in this book are so well created and defined. I connected to Kathryn Nash and felt her joys and pains. The descriptive way the book is written takes you to the past and makes it come alive. This book has everything a reader could want. Love, suspense, drama, family issues and triumphs. I am a serious reader, and I loved this book. It left me wanting to read the second book to the series right away, so I did! This book will make you smile, cry, and hold your breath as her ever changing life takes you on a 1930's journey into a family's dark secrets. [by Luvtoread]
