Dr. Margaret Arandaabout this book: This book is hailed as a "one of its kind," sure to help others who suddenly (or in the blink of an eye) seemingly lose their whole life to disability and the World of the Forgotten. If this fits you, then you must get this amazing book!
You could get hit by a car. Your elevator could lose its cables. There could be a major earthquake, tornado, or snowstorm that leaves you motionless and helpless, left there just to die of the elements. Or you could suffer an even longer course of disability over a longer period of time, where you go aimlessly doctor to doctor. Doctor to doctor. And you look okay, especially when you are laying down. When you stand up, you almost faint, but the doctor's office doesn't really know how to do orthostatic blood pressures. Neither does the ER. So what do you do?
You keep getting frustrated. The doctors keep getting frustrated. You "doctor hop" for months, maybe years. Finally, SOMEone knows SOMEone who may know SOMEthing that may help you. So yes, you see an electrophysiologist cardiologist and undergo the Tilt Table Test, where they Velcro you to a flat table and then "see" if you pass out when it is upright.
I almost threw up on them first, but I said, "It's going gray. Everything is going gray." And of course, when everything went black, I could speak no more. So my diagnosis of dysautonomia was made.
