Roger E. Brunerabout this book: This is a quirky double-romance about two thirty-five-year-old women who've been best friends since childhood. They're very competitive. Carla is a Christian. Annie is not. Even though both of them want to find a good husband, Carla is depending on God for His help. Annie is counting on the use of provocative actions, something Carla refers to as "playing the wrong game."
Both of them meet men who appear to be ideal for them, but Annie's wrong game, non-Christian attitudes are a stumbling block for her. And Carla's discovery that her perfect man has some serious flaws threatens to end their storybook romance.
I wrote this book because honesty and forgiveness are so important in any relationship, but especially when marriage is a consideration.
Although I wrote this from Carla's point-of-view--I've been told I do a good job writing and thinking the way a woman would--I think this story speaks to men as well.
I describe my novels as "quirky inspirational fiction," and this book has what I believe readers will agree are some truly funny scenes. I would have trouble writing a novel that was completely serious, but I probably couldn't write one that was totally humorous, either. I'd like to believe this book has the best of both characteristics.
I usually sign books with "I pray this book will both bless and entertain you," and that's what I truly hope for everyone who reads Play the Right Game.
