My Steps offers the reader the opportunity to read and witness how life's circumstances does not have to define your future. Our lives are centered in test and lessons that allows us to grow and evolve. The choice to evolve positively or negatively is up to the individual.
• What inspired you to write this book?
I was inspired to write this book as a teaching guide for my children. I wanted to leave them with my history as a boy, teen and adult in order to inspire them and reveal empowering anecdotes that they can glean from while going through life.
• Who are the primary readers of your book?
There are no primary readers because this book has a message of hope and perseverance that a person of all ages can appreciate.
• How long did it take to write it?
To complete this book, it took six months.
• How did you come up with the title?
The title was inspired by the biblical scripture Isaiah 44:2
"Thus says the Lord who made you, who formed you from the womb and will help you: Fear not, O Jacob my servant, Jeshurun whom I have chosen."
• Why did you choose this cover?
Different types of steps that lead to somewhere and steps being taken by someone with a destination in mind; however, along each path, no one really knows what they will encounter or what they will endure, they have to walk by faith and trust that the end destination will be positive and helpful.
• What was the hardest part of writing your book?
The hardest part of writing the book were re-living the past and trying to understand every incident or struggle and what part I played in making those things happen.
• Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
The lesson learned from writing this book was the realization that God had a plan for my life the entire time; the decisions that I made caused many of the situations to be more hurtful than they needed to be. I am greatful for writing this book because it allowed me to heal and forgive myself first and then forgive others in order for me to move on and embrace my future destiny.
• What do you want to say to your readers?
Many times, we go through life and experience many circumstances that appear to be overwhelming or chaotic; we must believe that all of our experiences are placed in our paths for a reason. We must be willing to endure the journey to see the outcome.
