David Prosserabout this book: An email asked me about the kind of day I'd had. Since it had been eventful (in a boring way) I decide to break it into bite size pieces and present my answer as a diary entry. It was well received and there was a plea for more. I decided to humour my friend and at the same time asked my wife to read each piece and give me her reaction. She chose to use it as bedtime reading.
My wife is ill and the real indication of how she liked what I'd written each day was the burst of laughter coming from her bedroom each evening. My friend suggested I write a book and my wife suggested if I enjoyed breathing it would be a good idea not to end her bedtime reading.
My life like everyone's has it's little peaks and troughs so it was necessary to embellish the details slightly, but only slightly of course.
The title was chosen because originally I thought of offering the story to a society in America (where my friend hails from) that are associated with the books about Barsetshire only mine would be in a more modern setting (just about). My friend, who is also an author found the cover for me and formatted the book.
As I carried on writing I found I was actually enjoying myself despite the occasional avoidance of the truth and I thought other people might enjoy reading about the antics of a minor member of the gentry in a small village which seemed to occasionally be in a time warp.
I may not have chosen a popular genre to write in but despite that I have sold a few books and the reviews have been good, luckily for me before I became bankrupt.
