Darlene Jonesabout this book: As a kid growing up on an isolated farm in Saskatchewan, I dreamed of many things--going on Safari, the most important of all, but never did I believe then that I would see as much of the world as I have.
I did go on Safari which is easily the best trip of my life. I rode a camel to the pyramids, I learned to body board in Mexico, I explored the jungles of Belize ...
I also lived in Mali and traveled extensively in West Africa (hence the setting for Whispers Under the Baobab), and have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit some of Europe. In recent years, I've spent the winter months in Mexico.
But From Mali to Mexico and Points In Between is more than a travelogue. I've included stories of my teaching experiences, my friends, my personal experiences and my family life.
Most of the vignettes are humorous for who can have a happy life without laughter?
