Book: Small Town Ho - The Hilarious Story of Moving from the Big City to North Idaho by Duke Dierckscategories: Book, Memoir, Humorous Memoir, Parenting Humor, Workplace Humor, Funny Book, Humor
Duke Diercksabout this book: This book started from some Christmas letters we sent out. A friend from college thought they were so therapeutically funny, she begged me to write a book. I thought she was delusional- I had dodged any and every class in college that had a writing requirement. After three years of phone calls, I decided to give it a try.
Small Town Ho is that book- a memoir of our family's move from the big city to a rural mountainous ski town in Northern Idaho. Along the way there were numerous learning curves, odd jobs to pay the rent all the while raising three boys, a slobbering dog and an assassin of a cat.
Small Town Ho is written in a sharp-tongued salty, conversational style and might offend people who are too sensitive. At the start of the book, we didn't know where we were heading or what we were looking for. By the end we knew.
If humor is your brand of medicine, Small Town Ho is for you!
