Brian C. Rellergertabout this book: It's about a circus that comes to town with one objective, to collect souls. The main villains, each have their own back story, which i believe added character depth and incite as to why they are there. In their own way, i believe the back stories could have been short stories on their own.
The biggest criticism i get, is that it starts off a little slow before picking up. It was sort of done intentionally, so that when the characters' back stories end and catch up with the main story, you find out the reason why they are there.
This was my first attempt at writing anything and started off as something i didn't even know if i would have the patience to finish. It wasn't easy in the least. I kept running into little snags in the storyline that would keep me from writing for days and would keep me awake at night, trying to find a solution.
I even took a two month break twice, when i hit a point in the story i wasn't extremely happy with. Eventually, after two years, i came up with something i am extremely proud of.
This is book one in a series that was originally meant for three books. After completing "Cirque de Noirceur" and thought about the full story, i realized i need a fourth book to make the series complete.
I am currently in the process of the second and i am hoping that with the first under my belt, the next will go smoother.
The editing was the most difficult part. I spent countless hours reading and rereading the complete book for mistakes and finding them every time. Even after i had the story edited, I was so happy to be finished that I attached the cover and sent it off to be published. I should have read thru the back cover one final time. After it was up for sale, I received a phone call from my sister, informing me that the word "discharge" was misspelled ... I felt like such a bonehead. All that time to make sure things were fixed and up to par, and I leave the one that was staring me right in the face, and clearly visible on the back cover.
I tried to gear my book toward any adult with in an interest in horror stories, something to make you want to leave a light on in their bedrooms at night. This is definitely NOT a children's book.
