Not only did I live an outdoors adventurous life but always found time for reading, it is that reading that developed my interest in history. This book required a certain amount of research related to mining, stampedes to California, Nevada and Montana. Visits to the site settings found within the book had to be accurate, as did the mining equipment. I believe those descriptions will be found true.
My friend Richard Wheeler, a great western writer in his own right perhaps said it best, "Like Louis L'Amour, Roland Cheek knows how to start a story at a gallop and hold the reader to the last page. He writes richly and authentically about the Old West."
Now comes Gunnar's Mine the fourth book in my sweeping Valediction for Revenge western series, featuring the adventures of wanted murderer, Jethro Spring, outcast progeny of a Blackfeet mother and mountain man father. Gunnar's Mine takes place in southwestern Colorado, near Telluride, It's a story pitting lonely independent miners in a life-and-death struggle with one of America's greatest (and greediest) mining corporations. Again, Jethro Spring is caught between right and might.
Notice I place you the reader, into the story by picturing an ore cart and rifle used during these adventure filled scenes pulling you into the type of story found within the covers of this book.
Enjoy it in ebook or print.
