Book: Lord Somerton's Heir by Alison Stuart
categories: Book, Regency Romance, Historical Mystery, Historical, Regency, Waterloo, Murder Mystery, Historical RomanceAlison Stuart

The widowed Isabel, Lady Somerton has endured an unhappy marriage and finding the heir to her husband's neglected estate is the door to her freedom. Sebastian Alder had never dreamed he was anything more than a penniless army captain facing a dire future on half pay with two younger siblings to support.
Becoming Lord Somerton is a poison chalice. Not only is the estate in a parless situation but there are doubts about the manner of his cousin's death, with suspicion falling on his cousin's widow, Isabel, a woman to whom he has a growing attraction.
This story has been tugging at my sleeve since I first visited the site of the Battle of Waterloo. A visit to Wellesley House on Waterloo Day and a bunch of men in uniform sealed it for me... I had to write my "Waterloo" story, even if Waterloo ended up being written out!
