Lindsay Townsendabout this book: 'A Summer Bewitchment' can be read as a stand-alone medieval romance and adventure. Or it can be read as part of a series. The first book in my The Knight and the Witch series is my medieval romance 'The Snow Bride.'
Review of 4.5 Blue Ribbons from Dottie at the Romance Junkies. "After devouring the first novel, THE SNOW BRIDE, I was delighted to be able to re-visit these two delightful characters. Witty repartee, engaging characters, intrigue, magical spells, romance and love fill the pages, sweeping the reader up into the midst of the story. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of A SUMMER BEWITCHMENT. I highly recommend it!"
I was drawn to write this historical romance because I loved the characters of Magnus, my battered crusader knight, and Elfrida, my red-haired peasant witch. I discovered they still had things to share with me and with my readers and also other adventures to have. Their relationship and romance is also evolving and I wanted to show that.
I wrote it partly as a mirror to 'The Snow Bride.' The action in 'A Summer Bewitchment' takes place during the summer, close to the summer solstice, while the action in 'The Snow Bride' occurs during the winter solstice. In 'The Snow Bride,' Magnus and Elfrida meet and fall in love. In 'A Summer Bewitchment,' they already know and love each other but certain flash points, as happen in any relationship, are still there and new ones also arise. In the first novel we remain in a woodland, almost wilderness setting. In 'A Summer Bewitchment,' we see Magnus and Elfrida in their home and later in villages and towns.
I hope you enjoy both.
