Book: If Not For The Knight by Debbie Boekcategories: Book, Medieval, Castles, Normans, Saxons, Historical Romance
Debbie Boekabout this book: If Not The Knight is an historical romance novel which takes place in 1066, after the Normans brutally defeated the Saxons. It's the story of the formidable Norman knight and the beautiful Saxon wench that fall in love, despite their differences and the animosity that it causes on both sides.
The story is about more than two individuals, it is about two cultures, two worlds, that have collided and now, somehow, they have to get past the anger and the hatred and learn to live together.
I really enjoyed writing this book and learned so much about medieval life. It was a brutal yet fascinating time. For instance, who knew that those big, bad knights actually enjoyed playing board games?
Anyone who enjoys a good romance filled with action, adventure, treachery and deception, will like this story. It's rich in historical detail and the characters are some of my favorites, they help the novel come alive. I always intended to write a sequel because I didn't think their stories were quite done yet. Who knows, that may still happen somewhere along the line.
