Book: Sommers' Folly by Debbie Boekcategories: Book, Western, Wagon Train, Texas, New Orleans, Old West, Historical Romance
Debbie Boekabout this book: Sommers' Folly is a romance novel that takes place in 1844 in the old west. Brian Sommers is escorting Alaina Montgomery on a wagon train to meet up with her fiancé, Diego Montoya.
Brian knows how disreputable her fiancé is and, in fact, he is using the journey as an excuse to get more information so that Diego can be arrested for treason.
It's the story of Brian and Alaina's journey, physically and emotionally. As their feelings for each other deepen, they are forced to deal with tragedy, deception and violence, discovering along the way that they might be their own worst enemies at times.
Sommers' Folly was the first book that I wrote. I was always a fan of historical romance novels, particularly westerns, so it was inevitable that I would have to start there. It's an exciting and fast-paced story, taking the reader from New Orleans to Texas and back. I believe they will get caught up in the adventure and really enjoy the story.
