Lilly Adamabout this book: Set in Cheshire and London in 1860, May of Ashley Green is an intriguing story surrounding the spiraling events which begin after a terrible tragedy occurs to May, a young and spirited seventeen year old who has led a gentle life in the hamlet of Ashley Green with her mother for as long as she can remember. Complicated by a handful of characters from her secretive past, May has to face a distressing time as the truth about her lineage begins to unravel bringing with it many shocks and life threatening situations. Her adventure takes her from the rolling countryside of Cheshire to the dark slums of the East End of London. A novel full of diverse and interesting characters where love is never too far away as romance steadily blossoms throughout the story.
Having a great interest in the Victorian era, this was the main reason that I set my book in this period. It is a period as a history fan which I love to research.
I hope that my readers will find themselves transformed back to an era where life was lived at a slower pace in this delightful time in history. At the same time I'm sure you will want to keep reading to follow the plight of May and her family.
