Book: The Peacock Butterfly by J. V. Lamotte
categories: Book, Contemporary Romance, Vintage Romance, Contemporary History, Historical RomanceJ.V. Lamotte

A great deal of research went into the telling of this story that covers the years from 1940-1990, and revolves around two families, whose worlds are turned upside down by events both within and outside of their control. Beginning in 1940, the reader experiences the horrors of World War II, the Vietnam War, and the financial turbulence of the 1980's. The Peacock Butterfly also entertains the reader with culinary delights, historical events and exposure to both domestic and international destinations, immersing readers in the period.
The book is a roller-coaster ride through personal triumph and disaster with moving depictions of love, heartache, and deception. The Peacock Butterfly demonstrates when myth and dreams collide with reality, the human spirt is resilient and can survive against all odds.
Writing this story taught me in the end we are all on a journey, and even though the roads we travel may take different twists and turns, there is a commonality that unites us.
After finishing the book I realized as a writer the story had not been completely told. A sequel was recently completed, to be published for summer 2015 reading, that covers the year 1992-2010, and completes the journey the characters began 5 decades earlier.
