Book: Did Jesus Exist? - Rediscovering the Historical Jesus by Mark Gerard Craigcategories: Book, Spirituality, Biblical Theology, Religion, Timothy Freke, Peter Gandy, History, Religious History, Mythology, Nag Hammadi, Biblical Criticism, Biblical Scholarship, Historical Jesus
Mark Gerard Craigabout this book: I have been a Christian all of my life, a cradle Catholic if you like. In fact, I was a Catholic Priest for three years before resigning and entering the world of High School teaching. Consequently, the fact that many are arguing today that Jesus did not exist is most challenging. Hence, this trend in pop culture and in certain academic circles prompted me to pen the following book: Did Jesus Exist?
With an open and as far as is feasible, an objective mind, this book is an honest and detailed analysis and evaluation of the evidence. In order to present a well balanced analysis I present arguments both for and against the hypothesis that Jesus did not exist as an historical person. Consequently, what you read is a very comprehensive and non-partisan study.
• "This carefully written book makes accessible the various schools of biblical scholarship and assesses a deal of speculative material. It should entice the beginner in New Testament studies to read further, furnishing as it does Craig's own road map for the journey" — Dr Peter Webb, Amazon customer review
