In The Briton and the Dane, the reader will connect with the characters, sympathetic to their plight when emotional conflicts affect decisions. The Briton and the Dane: Birthright brings the reader closer to the edge as the treachery and deception escalates. The Briton and the Dane: Legacy, the final installment, answers unresolved questions as the outcome of a sea battle will determine the course of history.
The Star Wars franchise came to mind when I was writing The Briton and the Dane series. George Lucas started off with one story just as I did. The original storyline was too involved and could not be adequately told in one volume, so sequels two and three were born. Once the trilogy was finished, I decided to write standalone stories, using characters that had been created in the trilogy, again thinking of the numerous novels in the Star Wars universe.

I was spellbound

by author Elisabeth Marrion
The Characters came alive and so did the places because I live close to where all the actions took place. I know the places, like Winchester, Corfe Castle, you name it I have been there. Now having read Mary Ann Bernal's book, on my next visit there I will look at the places in a new light. I just loved the book. Ann Bernal is a fantastic writer and I will certainly look out for her other books.I believe it is now also available as an audio book. Which is great for my friend who likes to listen rather then read.
Captivating

The Briton and the Dane The Complete Trilogy 2nd Edition by Mary Ann Bernal drew me in right away from the first book. They are smart, clever and articulate. It was easy to get swept away into the drama and intrigue. My interest was sparked over all the deception that took place during those time periods. This book also has a very seductive side which made the story even more intriguing and entertaining for me.Mary Ann Bernal sure know how to tell a captivating story. She writes with such life force. She is beyond talented and has a real gift for telling a powerful story. The characters are very lifelike and the dialog is impeccable. I loved how the scenes keep shifting around throughout each chapter. I had to pay attention but it was so spellbinding and alluring at the same time. It is all very comprehensible and clever.
I loved all the history along with the romantic side to these novel. It's easy to become lost into these books.
